Operations Update March 25, 2020

Okanogan County Electric Cooperative and Okanogan County Energy are continuing to work to provide you with our essential services. In respect of Governor Inslee’s COVID-19 pandemic ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy’ directive we are operating with additional health and safety protocols in place.

Our office has been closed to the public since March 18th and we have scaled back our operations to essential and emergency service needs. At this time the electrical engineering department will not be conducting in-person site visits and new construction projects are not being scheduled.

Propane delivery service will continue but in-home service work is not being scheduled. Propane technicians are on-call for service emergencies.

We are also developing additional options for staff to work from home. Additionally, we will schedule a meeting of the membership later this year instead of the normal Annual Meeting.

Because we understand that many of our members will be facing potential financial hardship due to closed businesses and self-quarantine measures, we are temporarily waiving delinquent fees and pausing all disconnects for non-payment. Your usage and balance owing will continue to accrue so we do encourage members to pay what you can to avoid a large bill in the future. Our office staff is available to discuss individual payment arrangements. Don’t forget you can pay your bills online at (for electric) and (for propane) or via phone.

At this time our office will be staffed Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm, closed Fridays.

Please continue to practice your safe and healthy social distancing and stay home when you can. Rest assured, we will continue to provide you with the necessary power and propane services you rely on. Contact us at (509) 996-2228 or with any questions.
